New from Kay Belle

This weekend has been a long one. Scott's parents are getting a divorce and we went to his Dad's house this weekend. We went up there to finish packing up his old room and moving it to my little bitty room here. We also went to a Halloween party where I got to decorate some awesome cupcakes :) and we visited with some friends we haven't seen in a very long time. It was pretty fun and a good mini vaca from the kids and stress of home.

While I was gone Kay Belle made some new zendalas and posted them to facebook for me.

Let me know what you think of them! They look pretty awesome to me. She used a few of my favorites tangles. I personally like the first one best it looks cleaner and it plays to my OCD haha. The second one looks like a take on an eye. It's very Kay Belle. Thanks Kay! Love you

Challenge 91 Beads of Courage

This week the The Diva gave us the challenge of creating a tangle inspired by the Beads of Courage organization  Beads of Courage is a wonderful charity that helps a child with a chronic illness or condition to tell their story of courage and strength as they take their medical journey. Her son Artoo is turning two this week and she is going back to work. Lots of big milestones for their family. So for Artoo's birthday and in honor of the Beads of Courage organization here is my zennie for this week.

I did the string and Artoo's name in purple, the color for The Moebius Syndrome colour. The beads are all done in black. I had some problems coming up with inspiration this week for design and which tangles to use. The finished product isn't bad, but I wish it had come out a little more polished. Have a good weekend and happy tangling everyone! It's almost Halloween yay! Check out my Halloween post and let me know what you think.

My Kay Belle

If you read my About Me page then you will know that Kay Belle is my best friend and my partner in crime in this zennie journey. We literally watched tons of videos on YouTube for hours of people tangling. It's so mesmerizing to watch someone do it. I can never do my zennies all in one sitting. First, I have way too many things I have to be doing. Second, my creative process mixes with my OCD and I can't sit still with a pen, I want to erase things and redraw them. If I get up and come back I like the mistakes and sometimes they lead to new patterns if I don't like them.

So I wanted to post the first zennies by me and Kay. These are the first ones both of us ever did.

These are all Kay's. I needed some of them for a presentation for school. I asked her to do a couple for me and the first three are what she brought to me. The last one is one that she made for me, that's why my name is on it. We are both big art bugs, and I love seeing what she creates. Such an artistic brain.
This is my first one. I already had a circular shape on one of my sketch book pages so I just started to tangle. You can see part of the AuraKnot I was working on, in the top left corner.  I used several of Rick and Maria's patterns in here. It's not perfect, but it came out pretty good for a first time I think.

Challenge 90

I found a new pen that I like! I'm so excited about this. I'm a college kid and I don't want to spend a lot of money on the micron pens. I already had a similar pen so I have been using that one. I got a couple of sharpie pens yesterday at walmart for like $1.50. They are great for coloring things in and I really like the lines they draw. So for someone who wants a different kind of effect you can totally go for that.

I had fun with this challenge. I've tried using strings before and I just never liked them much. This zennie shows a little of my country flair. It came out better than I expected it would. I got a few more ideas while creating this one so I made two instead of just one.

So this is my first challenge #90 response.

This is number my second response. I am pretty impressed by this one.

Sunflowers!

I am in LOVE with sunflowers. They are the most beautiful flowers God has created on this planet. So in honor of my love and his creation I made this for the sunflower challenge #43. I know it's majorly late for this one, but I couldn't help myself.

I actually used this in a presentation for school, which got me to actually do the blog. I went over how I found everything for the project and mentioned the blogs. One of my friends said that I should do a blog too. They all seemed very impressed, and it gave me a little confidence boost too ;)

Halloween

I'm working on some Halloween Zentangles. Have any ideas for me? Let me know in the comments please!

Here is number 1!
Mooka is one of my favorites. It always seems to find its way into my tangles one way or the other. In true Halloween spirit I had to do a pumpkin first of course. Its kind of simple, but I think it's pretty.
I am working on more, and any ideas are helpful :)
